BID 26-002 NOTICE TO BIDDERS
McHENRY TOWNSHIP FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
STATION #6 REMODELING
Notice is hereby given that the McHenry Township Fire
Protection District ("District") will receive sealed bids for the
Station #6 Remodeling until 9:00 A.M. local time,
Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Fire Station No. 1, 3610
W. Elm Street, McHenry, Illinois 60050.
Sealed envelopes or packages containing bids shall be
addressed to Chief Steve Spraker and plainly marked on
the outside: "BID PROPOSAL: 26-002 - STATION #6
REMODELING". All bids shall include a total base bid
and pricing for any alternates designated in the bid
documents.
BID OPENING: Bids will be publicly opened and read
aloud immediately following at 9:01 A.M. on
Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in the Board Room at Fire
Station No. 1, 3610 W. Elm Street, McHenry, Illinois
60050. The contents of all bids will be announced at that
time.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The proposed improvement
consists of furnishing all necessary labor, materials,
equipment, and services to construct and install all
improvements in accordance with the plans and
specifications designated "MTFPD Station #6
Remodeling." Plans and specifications will be available
for inspection beginning June 23, 2026, at the District's
administrative offices located at 3610 W. Elm Street,
McHenry, Illinois 60050, during normal business hours,
and electronically at www.mtfpd.org.
BID SUBMISSION: Bidders shall submit bids in
accordance with the instructions and requirements in the
bid documents. Bids must be submitted on forms provided
by the District or in the format specified in the bid
documents.
BID SECURITY: A Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent
(10%) of the total bid shall accompany each bid. The
bond shall be in the form of a bid bond issued by a surety
company authorized to do business in Illinois, or a
cashier's check payable to the McHenry Township Fire
Protection District.
PAYMENT BOND AND PERFORMANCE BOND: The
successful bidder shall provide a Payment Bond and
Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred ten
percent (110%) of the contract price, conditioned upon
the proper and faithful performance of the work.
PREVAILING WAGE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Work
performed under this contract shall comply with the Illinois
Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1 et seq.), the
Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Projects Act
(820 ILCS 265/1 et seq.), the Drug Free Workplace Act
(30 ILCS 580/1 et seq.), and all other applicable laws.
TAXES: The District is exempt from Illinois State,
municipal, or county Retailers' Occupation Tax, Service
Occupation Tax, Use Tax, and Service Use Tax as
described in 35 ILCS 120/1 et seq. Bid prices shall
exclude such taxes.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: Bids shall remain valid for sixty
(60) calendar days after the date of opening and may not
be withdrawn during that period. The District does not
have a fixed construction start date; bidders shall include a
proposed construction schedule in their submission. The
successful bidder shall participate in and comply with the
Owner's Construction Escrow requirements as set forth in
the Project Manual. All payments under the Contract shall
be made through the Title Insurance Company
administering the Construction Escrow. The Contractor
shall submit all subcontractor lien waivers to the Title
Insurance Company within five (5) business days of each
draw request. Failure to timely provide required lien
waivers may result in a delay or withholding of
subsequent draws. The Owner's Construction Escrow
requirements are incorporated herein by reference and
shall be binding upon the successful bidder.
AWARD OF CONTRACT: The contract will be awarded to
the lowest responsible bidder whose bid complies with all
requirements and specifications, as determined by the
District. The District reserves the right to reject any or all
bids, waive irregularities, and cancel the bidding process
prior to opening, when, in the District's opinion, such
action will serve the best interest of the District.
PUBLICATION & POSTING: This notice is published in a
newspaper of general circulation within the District and
posted on the District's website pursuant to 70 ILCS
705/11k.
