Mission Statement
The McHenry Township Fire Protection District is dedicated to providing the highest level of fire and rescue services to the communities it serves, through commitment preparedness, continuing education, and training of its members who work to assure the safety of the District's citizens on a daily basis.
Our Fire Stations
The McHenry Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD) is a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation responding out of 5 stations. Each Station is staffed by Full-time and Part-time personnel. Each station has various numbers of personnel, ambulances and fire equipment based on call volume and need.
Statistics
MTFPD is located approximately 60 miles Northwest of Chicago in the Northeastern portion of McHenry County. MTFPD is comprised of 9 different Villages and Cities and protects 56 square miles and approximately 48,000 year-round residents.
We received 7,507 emergency calls in 2022 for:
- Fires
- Emergency Medical Services
- Ice and water rescues
- Missing person searches
- Overdoses
- Hazardous Materials Response
- Trench rescue
- Vehicle accidents and much more

Personnel
Our personnel are made up of both full-time and part-time firefighters, paramedics and EMT's. MTFPD strives to provide top-notch training to all personnel to keep them sharp in all the areas in which we provide service.
